1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Ping, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who Can Use Ping
You must be at least 13 and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for your account and keeping it secure.
3. Your Content and Permissions
- You own the content you create (e.g., ping titles, details).
- You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit your content to operate the service.
- You confirm you have the rights to the content you share and the invitations you send.
4. Privacy
Your use of Ping is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
4a. Safety and Interactions
- No vetting. We do not conduct background checks, identity verification, or screening of users.
- Your responsibility. Use your judgment and take appropriate precautions in all interactions, online or in person. You are solely responsible for your behavior and decisions.
- No supervision. We do not organize, supervise, or control meetings. Any meetups or interactions are solely between users.
- Not an emergency service. Ping is not a safety, emergency, or crisis service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
4b. Messaging (SMS/OTP) Program
- Program. When you press “Send Code,” we send a one‑time password (OTP) to verify your number or help you sign in.
- Frequency. One message per request. Codes expire shortly after they are sent.
- Fees. Message & data rates may apply.
- Opt‑out. Reply STOP to opt out; you’ll receive a confirmation message. Reply HELP for help. To opt back in, reply START (or UNSTOP) or request another code.
- Delivery. Delivery may be delayed or limited by your carrier or device. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Acceptable use (OTP). Do not request codes for numbers that are not yours, or attempt to abuse or disrupt the service. We may block suspicious or abusive activity.
- Geography. SMS delivery from our toll‑free number primarily covers the United States and Canada; availability may vary by carrier and region.
5. Acceptable Use
- No spam, harassment, impersonation, or illegal activity.
- No scraping, reverse engineering, or attempting to bypass security.
- No posting or linking to content that is unlawful or infringes others’ rights.
6. Invites and RSVPs
- Guest lists are not visible to invitees by design.
- RSVPs are intentionally minimal (“Going”). Features may evolve over time.
- Do not use Ping to intimidate, pressure, or mislead invitees.
7. Third-Party Services
Some features rely on third parties (e.g., messaging or payments). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
8. Disclaimers
Ping is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties to the extent permitted by law, including any warranties of safety, fitness for a particular purpose, or that interactions among users will be risk‑free. We do not monitor content or users and have no duty to do so.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ping and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. Without limiting the foregoing, we are not liable for personal injury, emotional distress, or harm resulting from communications or meetings between users, whether arranged through Ping or otherwise.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Ping harmless from claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using Ping at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or for security/operational reasons.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we’ll notify you in the app or by email. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflicts of law. Courts in San Francisco County will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
